Getting in and out of bed without back pain using the "Log Roll" technique.

A lot of our patients with lower back pain tend to have issues moving from a supine position (lying down) to a seated position.

Laying Down Instructions

Put your elbow down on the bed, bring your feet up so the spine won't flex, then lie down and roll onto your back.

Sitting Up Instructions

Roll onto your left side, push down with your right hand, use your left elbow to push off simultaneously, lower your legs off the bed at the same time, and sit straight up without flexing your spine.

That will really decrease the amount of pain you'll feel in your lower back as you're getting from a laying-down position to a standing position.
